Targeted Research & Education

As a Forensic Legal Nurse Consultant, I utilize my forensic expertise to research, analyze and interpret medical evidence in legal cases involving sexual assault of the adult and adolescent population, domestic and intimate partner violence, strangulation, assault- related injury and elder abuse. I help attorneys understand the medical realities of a case by clarifying standards of care and translating complex clinical information into clear, actionable strategies that bridge the healthcare and legal arenas.

How I Conduct Research

* Medical Record Analysis
I review, organize, and summarize medical records, highlighting the clinical issues most relevant to the case.

* Case Analysis and Research
I analyze medical records, assess the standards of care, and identify deviations in the standard of care.

* Evidence Analysis
I analyze medical and forensic evidence, including police reports, EMS reports, healthcare provider documentation and other relevant reports to determine whether the evidence supports the reported history.

* Literature Research
I conduct targeted research into medical, nursing, and forensic literature to support or challenge case theories and ensure that reports are grounded in current standards and evidence-based practice.

How I Provide Education

* Case Strategy Support
I assist attorneys to develop case strategy, prepare exhibits, identify standard of care and liability issues, uncover gaps or errors in documentation, and locate or vet potential testifying experts. Additionally, I translate complex medical terminology, processes and medical-forensic concepts into understandable language for attorneys and the legal team.

* Client and Witness Preparation
I help prepare clients and witnesses for deposition or trial by identifying key issues, anticipating questions, and clarifying clinical details that may arise during testimony.

* Liaison Work
I serve as a bridge between attorneys, healthcare providers, investigators, and—when appropriate—victims or families, ensuring that communication remains accurate, trauma‑informed, and clinically grounded.
